Reaching the Marching Music Arts
Through Drum Corps International

Box 7 is a year-round ministry network engaging DCI members, staff, volunteers and alumni.

Over 300 people are connected across 20 corps each year - Cadets, Santa Clara Vanguard, Blue Devils, Madison Scouts, Boston Crusaders, and more.

Already know about DCI?
Let's meet at the Box 7 booth or around the conference!

Why is Drum Corps a Strategic Mission Field?
  • Transient demographic: members are mostly 16-21 and 60% male, staff are mostly in their 20s and 30s, along with volunteers - all in a passionate, non-profit "select-sport" environment
  • Intense relational time: each drum corps is a tight-knit community, together 24/7 for 3 months. No other activity for young adults has this potential for bonded friendships in such a gathered-scattered subculture.
  • Gifted leaders: this subculture has unusual capacity for spirituality, design, and innovation. Drum corps alumni become some of the most dedicated and influential workers in education, business, sciences, and government. Many of them will become teachers for public school music programs. We desire that more of these leaders come to follow Jesus Christ and redirect their talents for God's Kingdom.

Laura Sayre, Boston Crusaders Trumpet, 2015 & 2017

"In a culture that so highly regards performance as the determinant of value and merit, I eagerly pray for the day that all DCI performers and staff recognize that they are God's beloved children and their worth is in Christ."

Come to a Drum Show this Summer

There are over 100 DCI events each season -- it's like a summer concert with elite marching bands! At our booth, we have the 2018 Tour schedule and can put you on a list to receive an email reminder.
